Artist Statement and Inspiration

“I celebrate nature in all its forms. Using layering of media and glazing techniques to create a multi-dimensional effect, observers can share my journey to those landscapes that inspire my work. Water is a recurring element in my art – stormy ocean scenes, waterfalls, rivers, lakes and the forests of Ontario.

The Group of Seven, the impressionists, American Masters Homer ,Wyeth and Stephen Scott Young influence and inspire my artistic expression. “

Cheryl’s wide-ranging work reflects her Maritime roots.

Multi-talented, she is also a published author under the name Cheryl Miles. Her book, Bella and Dash, was published in 2018. She is currently working on two new works of fiction, “Change Gonna Come” and “Bella and Dash-Down Under.”.
